Job Description
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving improvements in plant operations by utilizing continuous improvement techniques and methodologies. This includes collecting and analyzing process metrics, leading cross-functional teams, implementing predictive and preventative tools, and managing the overall continuous improvement plan for the facility.
Responsibilities
- Strong computer proficiency, business administration expertise, and ability to communicate ideas verbally and in writing as well as lead project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement events and complete cost savings projects.
- Strong analytical skills using tools such as statistics, downtime tracking, mechanical history, and project planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to quickly understand complex production processes and identify opportunities for improvement via data analysis.
Skills
- 2 years of Continuous Improvement experience, or college degree preferred or proven industry related training and/or certifications.
- 4 years of industry experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, specifically in quality, safety, systems, Lean or Six Sigma principles / methodologies is desired.
- Green/Black Belt Lean Six-Sigma and Lean Leader training / certificate highly desired.
- Ability to combine theoretical training with practical experience.
Qualifications
- Collecting, monitoring, and analyzing process metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Training and leading cross-functional teams to focus on measurable quality, service, and cost improvements.
- Standardizing processes and implementing metrics and best practices.
- Utilizing predictive and preventative tools such as SPC, TPM, Visual Management, KPI analysis, and auditing.
- Communicating with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure their engagement and support of business improvement activities.
- Developing and leading the coordination and implementation of the continuous improvement program.
- Acting as Safety Officer and having responsibility for the facility's safety program.
- Managing the overall continuous improvement plan and standardized training programs to improve employee capabilities, safety, customer satisfaction, and efficiencies.
- Providing expertise in managing workshops, analyzing, and fixing non-conformances, and improving customer feedback.
- Performing audits and studies of processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Consistently and efficiently performing and following procedures in compliance with company, customer, and ISO standards.
