Job Description
The Flexo Pressman is accountable for operating the flexographic printing press to manufacture packaging products that meet customer specifications. Duties include preparing the press, ensuring efficient press operation, monitoring press performance, and resolving any problems that may occur.
Responsibilities
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, special printing instructions, and any special customer requirements
- Perform make-ready and operate flexographic printing press efficiently
- Stage stock in preparation for next roll change to keep press running properly
- Adjust press throughout the run to maintain position and registration
- Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers, dies, and other items related to the press
- Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
- Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands
- Provide informal leadership to the Flexo Helper/Second Pressman to accomplish production objectives
- Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives
Skills

- Mechanical aptitude
- Must have good color perception
- Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses
- Flexibility to work various shifts dependent on manning needs as schedules and/or workload changes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years industry experience
- Experience in the operation of Nilpeter, Mark Andy, Webtron, or Comco flexo presses
