Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning of all HR services for the organization. This includes safety initiatives, employee relations, talent management, labor relations, benefits, compensation, training, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The HR Manager will work closely with the leadership team to achieve the short and long-term goals for the organization and will be responsible for implementing and monitoring HR policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission and goals.

Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees all aspects of the HR department, including but not limited to compensation, employment, benefits, training, safety, employee relations, talent management, and labor relations.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, including EEO, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, and collective bargaining.
  • Introduces and implements improvements to HR processes that have a positive impact on the organization and can be measured in terms of ROI.
  • Leads and manages the safety and health processes for the facility, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conducts training on various topics, including sexual harassment, diversity, and employment law.
  • Manages the staffing needs of the organization, including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring employees, as well as conducting new employee orientations.
  • Develops and improves the knowledge and skills of the organization through the identification of training needs, and delivery of training through coaching and mentoring.
  • Manages the administrative aspects of the HR function, including maintaining records and confidential employee files, and providing statistical and regulatory reporting.
  • Researches and introduces policy changes for Leadership Team approval and provides guidance and advice on topics that may have a significant impact on employee morale.

  • Strong understanding of HR laws, principles, and practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Professional negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, coaching and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
Qualifications
  • Printing and or packaging experience is ideal but not required, must have manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (HR degree preferred) or 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • PHR/SPHR certifications preferred.
  • Advanced degree, certifications is a plus.
