Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing programming, troubleshooting and repairs plant equipment including offset, bindery, cutting and finishing presses, as well as performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery. They will report to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with other departments to minimize downtime and improve overall production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform programming, troubleshooting and repairs on commercial plant equipment preferred, but open to any manufacturing setting.
- Perform preventive maintenance programming
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery
- Perform inspections and document results for building, grounds, installed fire systems, hazardous waste holding areas and emergency lighting systems
- Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- Support all departments’ process improvement initiatives
- Maintain a trouble call or work order log
- Minimize downtime of critical production equipment
- Research, track delivery of and order required parts
- Maintain the appearance of the facility
Skills
- Provide preventative maintenance on a consistent schedule
- Reorder all parts as necessary
- Streamline costs based on efficiencies of machinery and parts utilized
- Troubleshooting and testing PLCs preferred
- Strong reasoning/diagnostic abilities
- Basic math and computer knowledge
- Familiar with electrician safety standards and requirements
- Able to apply and understand national electric code
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 4-5 years of experience in maintenance in print or packaging manufacturing industry
- Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery
- Electrical experience preferred
